It was good!

Highlights include web auction, followed by silent auction, followed by live auction (wtf?), weird seizure performance accompanied by a young man engaged in Tom Green-like behavior with a microphone (see above). Didn't make it in time but they also had naked women reading from the script of "The Secretary."

Invisible Ink

I'm working on a project with invisible ink (you can only see it with a blacklight)... here are some quick tests:

The ink is water soluble and you can do light washes, but you're pretty much limited to two or three tones...with a really light touch. Everything after that gets muddled together. Also, if you over do it, a thin yellow film builds up on the paper, pretty much defeating the purpose of invisible ink.

02/21 was the last day of the auto show, I heard so many different things about it that I took the bus out to McCormick Place to check it out:

There was a lot of the longing that goes with luxury objects

...and a ton of blue carpet:

The Army had a large recruitment section...offering "physical challenges" in exchange for t-shirts. They also displayed a mock field hospital, flight simulators (the kind you are locked into like a tomb) and some giant hummer looking vehicle that you weren't permitted to photograph. There were at least a dozen computers ready for you to put your information into (even the army needs a mailing list):

My Kickstarter program for NEXT is running out of time and I still have a long way to go. If you have been considering helping me with my artistic debut this is the time to do it! The rewards program is basically the equivalent to purchasing my work. If you have ever considered purchasing one of my paintings this would be a great time to consider it again. I have been putting all my energy and resources into this project. In the art world NEXT is like the Olympics I will be competing with the best artists around the world to have my work be placed at the best art galleries and museums around the world. I have already invested all of my money in materials so I am hoping threw kickstart I will raze the money for the entry fee.

I have a number of colleagues and friends use Kickstarter to fund their projects and all had great successes. Now it’s getting down to the wire. With Kickstarter if you don’t reach your goal they drop the program and all the pledges are canceled.
