Anne Pasternak

I saw Anne Pasternak (President of Creative Time) speak yesterday @ Graphicstudio...

Her talk was a good insight into what it's like accomplishing larger scale public art projects with big name artists... Public art is usually a little boring to me (mostly because it has to be approved by a municipal group/committee etc. and the work has to be completely safe)... of course, some of the projects she presented weren't really allowed and they were still a bit dry. Even so, Anne Pasternak seems like she's really got it together and knows how to get things done... Personally, I'm more interested in people like Packard Jennings who go around changing things without ever asking anyone. Of course, Jennings does public art that is less interesting than his other stuff (like his billboard alterations and action figures).
